A BASKET-HILTED BROADSWORD IN THE 17TH CENTURY SCOTTISH STYLE,
probably a late Victorian 'Romantic-Revival' copy, with possibly period 33in. double-edged spear-point blade, narrow central fuller for the first third of the blade stamped with the letters 'S.H.I.' each letter separated by a 'plus' sign (cleaned and pitted, signs of heavy use), iron basket hilt with panels pierced with heart designs and 'S' shaped devices and stylised 'thistles' between the bars, domed pommel and wire bound shagreen grip
