dated for 1866, with sighted 30 1/2in. barrel, flip-open breech-block with spring detent lock, plain lockplate signed 'BSA CO' together with the date, ordnance acceptance stamp and a 'VR' crown cypher to the tail, walnut three-quarter stock with iron furniture (toe with working repair), the top of heel-plate stamped 'TG 588', two iron barrel-bands and original iron clearing rod
