A PROTOTYPE .22 SINGLE-STROKE PNEUMATIC AIR-RIFLE, MODEL 'MERLIN', serial no. 01,
for 2009, with 20in. floating barrel including integral muzzle-break, anodised aluminium receiver with rail for a telescopic sight, brass rotary breech-block, walnut anatomical right hand stock and substantial machined alloy cocking-lever concealed in the underside of the fore-end, the handle portion marked 'Ist PROTOTYPE MERLIN 01/2009' together with the designers initials.
Other Notes: This actual air-rifle was the working prototype taken to Webley in 2009 to be demonstrated by the designer Graham Trim. After modifying the receiver on the subsequent prototype to use a bolt action, the gun was launched by Webley as the Paradigm.
