A PAIR OF 40-BORE PERCUSSION RIFLED TURN-OFF PISTOLS, no visible serial number,
circa 1760, converted from flintlock, with 3in. turn-off rifled cannon-barrels, the breeches stamped with the makers mark for Robert Wheeler, squared border and scroll engraved boxlock central hammer actions signed 'WHEELER' on the left hand side in a banner, slab-sided walnut butts inlaid with silver wire scrolls (small losses to inlays) and sliding trigger-guard safeties
