circa 1840, with browned 30in. damascus barrels (some discolouration), the top-rib signed 'THOMAS JACKSON, 29 EDWARDS STREET, PORTMAN SQUARE, LONDON', scroll engraved rib-end, platinum vented plugs, fully engraved top-tang featuring a pheasant in a woodland setting, flat, slightly curved border, scroll and game-scene engraved bar-action locks signed 'THOMAS JACKSON, EDWARDS STREET', figured chequered walnut half-stock, blued iron heel-plate with scroll and game-scene engraved long-spur (some corrosion), blued trigger-guard engraved with a hunting dog to the bow and pheasants to the tang, engraved take-down wedge escutcheons and ramrod throat, replacement ramrod TOGETHER WITH its fine original mahogany case with inlet scrolled brass corners, lined in green baize with compartments for the gun and accessories and including a powder and shot flask, an oil bottle, nipple-key, brushes and wad punch, the inner lid with trade-label, the outer with brass ring handle
