A 13-BORE FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS OF UNUSUAL FORM SIGNED 'TOWER', no visible serial number,
circa 1760, with refinished swamped triple-stage iron barrel, cannon muzzle, the breech-end stamped 'PRO' and 'VED' within crescent banners together with a makers mark 'I.P.' (possibly James Prosser), the lock a probable replacement signed 'TOWER' at the tail and stamped with a crown over 'G.R.' forwards of the hammer, banana-shaped walnut handrail full-stock, flattened top to comb, brass heel-plate with scroll engraved long spur, brass trigger-guard bow with roll-edges and acorn finial, brass border and scroll engraved stepped sideplate, brass ramrod thimbles, horn sling-stud to underside of butt and horseshoe swivel to fore-stock, probable replacement iron ramrod
