A SCARCE 16-BORE 'MODEL 241' SELF-LOADING SHOTGUN, serial no. 13215,
24 5/8in. nitro reproved barrel (in 2012), 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. 3/4 choke, plain action retaining traces of original blued finish, wooden side fillets with some damage, receiver dated 1949, alloy triggerguard, 13 3/4in. semi-pistolgrip stock including 1in. ventilated rubber recoil pad, weight 6lb. 13oz.
Other Notes: It is believed that the model 241 self-loading shotgun was developed in occupied Czechoslovakia by the research and development team at the Uhersky Brod. plant in secret from the occupying German forces between 1942 and 1944. The model was put into production after liberation between 1946 and 1950, in 12, 16 and 20 bore calibres. It is suggested that early actions were made from the lightweight alloy reclaimed from the propellers of American aeroplanes shot down over the area during the war
