28in. nitro reproved chopperlump barrels with matt rib, the tubes engraved with the Purdey address (indistinct), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, self-opening action with removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, arrow cocking indicators, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, brushed bright finish, 14 1/4in. figured replacement stock (by the makers), weight 5lb. 12oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed September 1894 with 28in. barrels for a 'Rosier'. They subsequently re-stocked the gun in April 1961.
