30in. nitro reproved blacked damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'STEPHEN GRANT. 67A ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.' and '1', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, H. Phillips patent sidelever lever-cocking action, patent no. 4809 of 1879, carved fences, manual safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, topstrap engraved 'PATENT', action engraved 'STEPHEN GRANT'S PATENT', border and scroll engraving, 15in. figured stock with slight split at head, insert to comb and including 1in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 11oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed with 30in. barrels in 1881 for C.F. Keane, Esq.
