* A RUSSIAN SHASQUA WITH NIELLOED HILT,
circa 1880, with slightly curved 31 1/2in. triple-fullered (two narrow and one wide) blade, the fullers interrupted on the left hand side of blade by a stamped makers-mark in a chrysanthemum shaped border approximately 4in. from hilt and on the right by a narrow vertical bar in a similar position, the white metal hilt of classic guardless form with beaded borders to the front and to the eared pommel, twin beaded borders to the grip-piece, the whole of the grip covered in floral niello-work, blade with some edge nicks and powdery corrosion, no scabbard
