mid 19th century, with 19 1/2in. slightly curving fullered blade widening at the tip, deeply stamped makers mark at forte, triple-stage low-grade silver hilt with the first section of faceted form with applied silver wire border decoration, diminutive circular hand-guard, cylindrical variegated wire-bound centre section with fine chain-link grip-piece and fluted spire pommel (some minor dents), the silver scabbard with applied silver wire arabesques and variegated bands, the throat section bound with a green tasselled rope, the whole 34in. overall
