BIRMINGHAM.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, Perkes patent opening cocking action, patent no. 1968 of 16th May 1878, use number 495, Scott patent crystal cocking-indicators, patent no. 3223 of 1875, Scott patent gas check system, patent no. 617 of 1882, use number 1447, automatic safety, border and acanthus scroll engraving, 14 1/2in. figured stock with steel heel and toe plates, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 6lb. 14oz., in a leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed in October 1882 as a '2nd Quality' with 30in. barrels. The original owner's name is indistinct but would appear to be Alex Stonor.
