27in. nitro chopperlump barrels, rib engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', 2 5/8in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, self-opening action with removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, cocking-indicators, non-selective single trigger (converted), best bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening, 14in. figured stock including 7/8in. leather covered recoil pad, weight 6lb., in its brass-cornered oak and leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed February 1929 with 27in. barrels for Mr. D. Dows. There is a note in the records indicating that it was converted to a single-trigger by Abercrombie & Fitch of New York.
