circa 1795, with turn-off 1 1/2in. barrels numbered '1' & '2', starred muzzles with engraved bands, borderline and martial trophy engraved boxlock action signed 'HETHERINGTON' on the left and 'NOTTINGHAM' on the right hand side, rotary tap-action with operating lever on the left, central hammer, sliding safe to the top-tang also bolting the frizzen, finely chequered walnut bag-shaped butt with clipped corner silver escutcheon at wrist, engraved silver butt-cap, concealed trigger and private proofs with makers stamp to underside
