A .25 ACP (6.35mm) SEMI-AUTOMATIC POCKET PISTOL, MODEL '1909 PIEPER'S PATENT', serial no. 41130A,
circa 1914, with 2in. tip-up barrel, blued slide and receiver stamped 'OESTERR. WAFFENFABRIKS-GES STEYR on the left hand side and 'N. PIEPER PAT' on the right together with various world patents on the barrel, blued frame, chequered hard-rubber grip-panels with the 'Steyr' logo, detachable box magazine, the whole retaining a fair amount of original blued finish, COMPLETE WITH a period pigskin leather holster
Provenance: This Lot was formerly the property of the vendor's father, Col. Michael Anstice, M.C. . It is not known exactly how he came by it, but family evidence suggests it was a trophy of war and taken from a Chinese officer at the Battle of the Hook; a key engagement during the Korean War.
