A 16-BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1800, with octagonal swamped 10 1/2in. barrel, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the engraved top-tang, traces of gold-lining to the touch-hole. flat border-engraved step-tailed lockplate signed 'FOWLER', engraved hammer, semi rain-proof pan, roller bearing to the frizzen-spring, walnut full-stock with bag-shaped butt, engraved cap to the pommel, iron trigger-guard with applied finger-hook and silver inlet crest to bow, urn finial, two take-down wedges with silver oval escutcheons and later horn-tipped ramrod (old repair to side-cheek)
