A GOOD 22-BORE FLINTLOCK SEA-SERVICE BELT-PISTOL FOR THE EAST INDIA COMPANY, serial no 6,
circa 1755, browned round tapering 12in. barrel with slightly flared muzzle, carved bands at the breech-end, London proofs together with a crown over '4' inspectors mark, a makers mark of 'I.r.'? and a double stamp of an underscored '6', solid flared top-tang, plain flat lockplate engraved with an East India Company rampant lion, unbridled frizzen, walnut full-stock carve around the top-tang and stamped with a crown inspectors mark to the rear of the trigger-guard, heavy brass butt-cap, brass trigger-guard tang and bow with diamond-shaped finial, brass serpentine side-plate with long iron belt-hook attachment, single brass ramrod pipe and brass-tipped ramrod
