for 1916, with 5 1/2in. sighted barrel, fluted cylinder, plain frame and chequered hard-rubber grips embossed with the 'COLT' trademark (finish faded, some parts war-service black enamelled), the backstrap engraved '2/LT D. ARMSTRONG, K.O.S.B.'
