A RARE 10-PEG 'VESTA TYPE' STERLING SILVER PLACE FINDER,
London silver hallmarks for 1901 and with makers mark 'JH', vesta type case sprung to open to reveal ten numbered flat ivory pegs, silver gilt interior, the case lip etched 'J.C. VICKERY 177 TO 183, REGENT ST. W.' (sic), and 'R38797', the case outer monogrammed 'J.C.F J.R.F.' and with a Talbot with torse

Provenance: The place finder comes in an associated box with gilt Asprey markings, with the following hand-written inscription on the lid interior:

This stand drawer was my Great Uncle Charlie's who died in the 1920's after being gassed in World War I. By chance I saw it in a Christies' gun sale and wished it go to Edward on my death. Richard is to have the gold sovereign drawer.
