British, circa 1800, with slightly curving possibly shortened or re-profiled 28 1/2in. fullered blade, secondary narrow fuller to the back-edge for just over half its length, brass stirrup hilt, the cross-guard with additional side-bar joined with a voided concave-sided diamond-shape, turned down quillion, the outerside edge of the knuckle-bow engraved 'E. YELLAND 1805', the reverse of pommel engraved with an 'HC' (possibly JC) monogram and the date 1801 and ribbed horn grip-piece, TOGETHER WITH its original leather scabbard with brass throat, drag missing
