WHITWORTHS FLUID PRESSED STEEL' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech end (No.1 right wall thickness below recommended minimum), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in all, treble-grip actions, the toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, the undersides with a snowdrop, 14 1/2in. well-figured stocks including 1/2in. ebonite extensions, weight 6lb. 2oz. (No.1) 6lb. 3oz. (No.2), in their brass-cornered oak and leather double guncase
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this pair of shotguns were completed July 1897 as best quality hammerless ejectors with 29in. Whitworth steel barrels for M.P. Lucas, Esq.
