A BRITISH 1827 PATTERN RIFLE OFFICERS LEVEES SWORD TO THE HERTFORDSHIRE RIFLE VOLUNTEERS,
circa 1860, with Wilkinson type 31 1/2in. plated blade (some minor losses to plating), etched with scrolls, arabesques and the Victorian crown cypher on the left hand side and similar decoration to the right surrounding 'HERTFORDSHIRE RIFLE VOLUNTEERS' beneath the rifle bugle device and 'No2', inlaid proof and makers details at forte, iron 'gothic' three bar hilt with the crowned rifle brigade bugle, half-chequered iron back-strap and wire-bound sharkskin grip, COMPLETE WITH its iron scabbard with two loose suspension rings (creased)
