28in. nitro chopperlump barrels, sunken ribs engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and imp. cyl. choke, self-opening actions with removable striker discs, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, cocking-indicators, triggers set for the left hand, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining virtually full renewed colour-hardening and finish, 15 1/2in. well-figured replacement cast on stocks, weight 6lb. 5oz., in a brass-cornered oak and leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this pair of shotguns were completed May 1939 with 28in. barrels for I.K. Muir.

They subsequently re-stocked both guns for the left shoulder, performed a full service, re-jointed, renewed both the colour-hardening and blued finish and turned the triggers of both guns in January 1996. A copy of the receipt will accompany the pair.
