A CONTINENTAL 18-BORE PERCUSSION MUSKET, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number, probably German circa 1770 and converted from flintlock, with two-stage 28 1/2in. barrel banded at the intersection, iron fore-sight, yellow-metal geometric inlays at breech-end, solid pointed top-tang, plain slightly curved and radiused lock with flat-sided hammer, walnut full-stock carved along the ramrod channel, lockplate, top-tang and cheek-piece, brass heel-plate with rococo bordered spur, flat underside to stock, wood trigger-guard bow with brass inlay, iron horse-shoe and button fittings for sling, horn fore-end tip and replacement ramrod
