dated for 1858, with slightly tapering brushed bright 10in. rifled barrel, block and blade fore-sight, rear-sight with one standing and two folding leaves, replaced nipple, solid rounded top-tang, flat, borderline engraved lockplate signed 'TOWER' over '1858' and stamped with a crown over 'VR' at the tail, walnut pistol-grip full-stock, brass butt-plate with loose iron lanyard ring, the rear-spur stamped '5L' over '116', brass trigger-guard and nose-cap, captive iron stirrup ramrod (woodwork worn with some age-cracks and old repairs, side nail and lockplate fixing screw replaced)
