originally first quarter of the 19th century, with tapering round 8in. shallow rifled barrel, octagonal breech section stamped with conversion date and various ordnance marks, domed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the solid top-tang, the tang also marked with the original model date, plain lockplate signed 'MRE IMP ALE DU TULLE', plain hammer, walnut half-stock with brass furniture and numerous ordnance stamps, full-length iron backstrap, lanyard ring to pommel, brass nose cap and co-joined side-plate, under-barrel cup-ended iron ramrod
