A FINE 90-BORE PERCUSSION SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION ONLY REVOLVER, MODEL 'BENTLEY TYPE', no visible serial number,
circa 1855, with blued octagonal 4 3/4in. sighted barrel, signed on the top-flat 'S. BOOTH & CO, LONDON', engraved band at the muzzle, engraved scrollwork at the breech, Birmingham proofs, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the half-strap, case-hardened cylinder, the chambers numbered from '1' to '6' with an engraved band to the front edge, blued border and scroll engraved frame, case-hardened engraved hammer, blued sprung hammer-safety mounted to left hand side of frame, polished trigger, finely chequered walnut grips, case-hardened under-barrel rammer, blued border and scroll engraved butt-cap and back-strap, scroll engraved trigger-guard, the whole retaining much original finish throughout (blueing lightly worn)
