circa 1863, with 7in. octagonal barrel, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, the top-strap signed 'SAVAGE R.F.A. CO. MIDDLETOWN CT, H.S. NORTH PATENTED JUNE 17 1856, JANUARY 18 1859, May 15 1860', off-set central hammer, plain cylinder with ratchet indexing, heavy iron frame with side-plate, possible replacement gum-wood grips, oversized trigger-guard with single action trigger-blade and additional ring cocking trigger, hinged under-barrel rammer, the whole cleaned with some shallow pitting throughout.
