32 1/4in. Greener trade mark bold damascus black powder only barrels, broad raised matt rib engraved 'W. W. GREENER. 68 HAYMARKET LONDON. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS. 1875. 1877. 1878 & 1879.', the breech end with fine scroll engraving surrounding an oval inscribed 'PATENT TREBLE WEDGE FAST NO. 3084', treble-grip action with carved percussion fences, broad strikers, rebounding sidelocks with faceted c-scroll hammers, border and acanthus scroll engraving, the toplever with an oval inscribed 'FAR KILLING DUCK GUN' and with a lone mallard, retaining some original colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. figured semi-pistolgrip stock with horn buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch and horn finial, weight 9lb. 4oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed the gun was completed in 1881 as a batch built for the U.S. market.
