Belgian, circa 1855, with twist 9in. octagonal smooth-bore barrels 'in the white', applied brass fore-sight blades, standing notch rear-sights to the scroll engraved top-tangs, borderline engraved bar-action locks with florally engraved accents, scroll engraved slab-sided hammers, pistol-gripped walnut half-stocks, chequered at the butts, flared pommels with gadrooned borders and applied iron dome butt-caps, iron engraved trigger-guard bows with finger-spurs, vase finials, shell carving to the fore-end tips, white metal shield escutcheons to the wrists and white metal oval take-down wedge escutcheons, one pistol with small inlet repair forwards of lock, TOGETHER WITH a later wood case, re-lined and compartmented in the continental fashion with pale brown velvet for the pistols and a full suite of accessories including a bag-shaped flask, nickel oil-bottle, turn-screw, nipple-key, two loading or cleaning rods, a loading mallet, spring clamp, ivorine cap box, a scissors ball-mould and a powder-measure
