28 3/4in. fine damascus barrels by Albert Bernard (Cannonier A Paris), broad rib engraved 'Lefaucheux a Paris', Lefaucheux patent forward facing underlever, permanently attached steel fore-end with unusual sprung locking catch, and cammed barrel locking piece, island back-action locks signed by the maker and with ornately decorated pinfire hammers, ornately scrolled triggerguard, the action, lockplates and furniture profusely engraved with flowing grape and vine motifs, surrounding and invading panels of the same carved in high relief, 15 5/8in. highly-figured stock including 5/8in. wooden extension with engraved steel buttplate, weight 7lb. 4oz.
