circa 1850, with octagonal 4 3/4in. barrel, blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight on the half-strap, plain cylinder with rope border to leading edge, border and scroll engraved open frame with take-down wing-nut to front, spur-less hammer with provision for a hammer safety (missing), chequered walnut swept grips, the front-strap with later added number '51.68.64', and iron pommel
