with blued 7 1/2in. barrel, nickel-silver fore-sight blade, drift adjustable rear-sight mounted to the stirrup locking latch, blued fluted cylinder, plain blued frame, polished hammer and trigger, chequered walnut grips with flared base (minor chips to top rear corners) and lanyard ring to heel, the whole retaining most of its original blued finish, TOGETHER WITH its original oak storage case, compartmented and line in blue baize, with provision for 30 rounds of ammunition and including a glass oil-bottle and cleaning rod, the lid with parchment armourial label above the Indian name 'SAMPATIAO GAIKWAD BARODA', the outer lid with brass circular escutcheon named 'SHRIMANT SAMPATRAO GAIKWAD BARODA'
Provenance: It is possible that this revolver was a gift from His Highness, the Maharaja of Baroda to Shrimant Baroda who was one of his government Ministers as well as a family member.
