AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE PAIR OF DETACHED PATENT AUTOMATIC PILL-PRIMING LOCK MECHANISMS,
converted from flintlock circa 1825, possibly from a double-barrelled pistol or pair of pistols, of flat, slightly curved form, border engraved with musical trophies towards the pointed tails, the automatic fulminate pill dispensing drums held by florally engraved arms attached to the lock body 'frizzen' style and operating on roller-bearing springs (one dispenser lid cracked), the centre 'vase-shaped' anvils with platinum vents, the hammers with adjustable replaceable strikers (one nose repaired in antiquity), the hammer and dispenser separated by a swinging safety-bar signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENTEE', further sliding safes behind the hammers, both locks missing mainsprings but retaining traces of finish
