first production circa 1920, with break-open 4in. smooth-bore barrel, blade fore-sight, elevating buckhorn rear-sight, hinged air-chamber lifting to cock, the top of chamber stamped 'HAENELS MOD. 26, BRIT. PAT. NO. 277265, DRP', push-button cylinder release forwards of the trigger-guard bow and early pattern wood grips with horizontal grooves, the pistol retaining much of its original black painted finish
