circa 1875, with pull-forwards nickel-plated smooth-bore brass-barrel, bead fore-sight, notch rear-sight to the receiver, small plated air-chamber, the end-cap marked 'POPE BROS USA' across the centre and 'CANADA MAR. 23 '75, BELGIUM OCT. 21/74' around an inner circle and 'PATD. JUNE 6, DEC 5, 71, NOV. 17 '74. ENGLAND JULY 1, FRANCE OCT. 20' around the outer circumference, nickel-plated birdshead grip with aperture for wire shoulder-stock (missing) and spur-trigger, much original finish remaining
