circa 1903-05, almost certainly made in Germany for C.G. Bonehill of Birmingham, with blued round 21 3/4in. smooth-bore barrel signed 'PATENT' near the breech, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, dove-tailed standing notch rear-sight, the left hand side of hinge stamped 'RD394207', thumb-lever locking catch to left of breech, slanted nickel-plated air-chamber with applied walnut comb, cast trigger-guard bow forming the cocking link and a half-pistol-grip, the whole expertly re-finished and re-plated
