circa 1790, with re-browned twist iron 30in. barrels, the top-flat re-engraved with 'MORTIMER, GUN MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY', applied bead fore-sight, bands and sunburst engraved to breech end, gold-lined touch-holes, border and floral engraved top-tang, curved flat bevel-edged step tailed lockplates signed 'MORTIMER' (refreshed), border and floral engraving, rain-proof pans, scroll engraved hammers, roller-bearings to the frizzen-springs, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist (approximate 1 3/4in. extension to butt), iron heel-plate, iron trigger-guard with scrolled pistol-grip tang, pineapple finial and original ebony ramrod
