A .577 (SNIDER) SINGLE-SHOT BREECH-LOADING SERVICE RIFLE SIGNED TOWER, MODEL 'MKI TWO-BAND', serial no. 16816,
dated for 1877, with sighted 30 1/2in. barrel, flip-open breech-block with small spring detent lock, plain lockplate signed 'TOWER' together with the date and a 'VR' crown cypher to the tail, walnut three-quarter stock with brass furniture, two iron barrel-bands, swivels and original iron clearing rod
