Continental, probably Belgian, with two stage 24 1/2in. barrel, inlaid with white and yellow metal arabesque scrolls at breech surrounding the inlaid signature 'TROXADO', long, scroll engraved top-tang, scroll engraved back-action lock, scroll engraved hammer, walnut half-stock carved with grooves and bands at wrist, the underside of the butt running into a relief carving of a bearded man with glass eyes and acorn leaves in lieu of hair, raised cheek-piece with a relief embossed white-metal cap-box inlet to the rear, scroll engraved white-metal trigger-guard tang and bow, white metal take-down wedge escutcheons, ramrod throat and two applied ramrod thimbles, possible original iron ramrod
