circa 1870, with blued octagonal 3in. barrel, the top-strap signed 'TIPPING & LAWDEN, LONDON, crescent fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain cylinder with rope-border carving to the leading edge, plain solid frame with hinged loading gate, wing-nut hammer safety, one-piece chequered walnut saw-grip butt, iron pommel with lanyard ring and centrally mounted ejector rod, the whole retaining fair traces of original finish
