circa 1860, with 30in. damascus barrels, the top-rib signed 'WILLM. & JOHN RIGBY, 24 SUFFOLK STREET, DUBLIN' (refreshed), bead fore-sight, scroll engraving to the breech and rib-end, twin platinum lines and vents, long top-tang engraved with scrolls and knot-work, border, scroll and ribbon engraved shaped back-action locks signed 'W & J RIGBY', border and scroll engraved dolphin headed hammers, walnut half-stock with chequered straight-hand wrist, iron heel-plate with long top-spur, iron trigger-guard bow and tang, the finial continuing for the full length of the fore-end to the ramrod throat (all heavily cleaned with loss to detail), white metal take-down wedge escutcheons and original brass-mounted mahogany ramrod TOGETHER WITH a period William & John Rigby mahogany storage case for gun no. 7149, compartmented and lined in green baize, parchment label to lid interior and containing a period powder and shot flask, a nipple-key and cap-tin
