AN 8mm (BALL) CO2 POWERED AIR-RIFLE, MODEL 'GIFFARDS PATENT', serial no. 8549,
with 25 1/2in. sighted barrel (traces of gilded signature), scroll engraved breech-section with rotating loading gate and balloon motif, under-barrel air reservoir with three milled bands serial numbered '6549', walnut butt with chequered grip, bakelite butt-plate decorated in low relief with a further balloon motif and 'PAUL GIFFARD INVENTEUR' (some mild pitting to iron parts).
