for 1923, with rapid taper 24 1/4in. octagonal barrel signed on the top-flat 'THE DAISY RIFLE' and on the side-flat 'WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CONN USA. KINGS IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29 1866 OCTOBER 16 1860', dove-tailed bladed fore-sight, elevating buckhorn rear-sight, plain blued receiver with sliding dust-cover, top-tang drilled for peep-sight, fitted with keeper-screws and marked 'MODEL 1873 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK REG IN US PAT OFF', walnut straight-hand butt-stock with iron crescent heel-plate, no provision for trapdoor, brass cartridge-lifter with calibre designation, plain walnut fore-end and under-barrel half-magazine, the whole reblued throughout
Other Notes: These rifles were amongst the last Model 1873s to ever leave the Winchester factory. The designation 'The Daisy Rifle' was invented to try and make the model appear fresh, as opposed to a 50-year old obsolete design.
