A COLLECTION OF LETTERS FROM PRESTIGIOUS CLIENTS TO MESSRS CHARLES LANCASTER, a) January 3, 1848 - Letter from Lord Maidstone of Rugeley, Staffordshire asking for certain items, including bags of thick and thin wadding, to be placed "this day" on a Trent Valley Line train leaving Euston Square Station at 12.30pm
b) January 12, 1848 - Letter from Lord Bruce of Savernake Forest, Marlborough asking Mr Lancaster to send him a Box of Wadding for his guns and also 1000 caps.
c) 26 August 1859 - Letter from the Rt Hon Lord Vivian of Glynn, Bodmin asking Mr Lancaster to send his guns, two additional bags of copper caps, a large bag of wadding and 12 lbs of gun powder by Great Western train from Paddington on Saturday evening at the latest.
d) 28 November 1859 - Letter from the Hon H.C Grey of Howick, Alnwick, Northumberland asking for a box of cartridges for his breech loading gun to be sent as soon as possible to "Howick Alnwick" to be left at Longhoughton Station
e) 9 December 1859 (Saturday) - Letter from Lord Wallscourt of Weeting Hall, Brandon, Suffolk asking for the return of his guns.
f) 27 October 1863 - Letter from Lord Lisburne of Crosswood Park, Aberystwyth, Wales asking for a cartridge case and posing an interesting question.
g) 5th December 1863 - Letter from Sir J.R. Carman of Torquay thanking Mr Lancaster for the tubes for his Duck Gun which did not fit because they were too stout and too long.
h) 14 December 1863 - Letter from Lord Jocelyn of Ampthill, Beds stating that his guns will be sent to Mr Lancaster on Wednesday as the cock of the left hand barrel "is not quite safe". Further details.
i) October 30th 1865 - Letter from Lord Rivers in Torquay asking Mr Lancaster to send him 1000 empty cartridges for his breech loading guns addressed to him at Rushmore Lodge, Salisbury.
j) November 3rd 1865 - Letter from Lord Lisburne of Crosswood Park, Aberystwyth in Wales
asking for 500 cartridges No 5 shot to be sent down
k) November 14th 1865 - Letter from Lord Lisburne of Crosswood Park, Aberystwyth in Wales
asking CW Lancaster to send down as soon as possible a box of mixed wadding for his No 12 bore gun; also a box of wadding for duck gun and 6lbs of powder for the same gun and a small game bag.
l) November 25th 1865 - Letter from Lord Rivers of Rushmore Lodge, Salisbury asking for a bill for the cartridges by return of post.
m) November 30th 1865 - Letter from Lord Rivers of Rushmore Lodge, Salisbury enclosing "a draft for the amount of your Bill "less 5% for ready money …".
n) A reduced-sized photocopy of the Lancaster four barrelled rifle No 3265 built in 1860.
