A 50-BORE PERCUSSION UNDER-HAMMER WALKING-STICK GUN, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'DAYS PATENT', no visible serial number,
circa 1825, with turn-off (frozen) twist iron tapering 27 3/4in. barrel, the breech-end with Birmingham proofs and marked 'TWIST', the trigger-unit with re-blued under-hammer, the top of breech marked 'DAYS PATENT' over 'J.R.', the top fitted with a small applied brass plaque embossed with a coat of arms and 'DAYS PATENT' over a banner with 'BARNSTAPLE NEWGATES' and an illegible number and fitted with a wood stick-handle
