A FINE CASED PAIR OF 15-BORE FLINTLOCK OFFICERS 'MAN-STOPPER' PISTOLS, serial no's. 4451,
circa 1800, with browned (faded) 8 3/4in. smooth-bore round barrels, flat sighting planes, the left hand sides of the barrels marked with Indian Maharaja's armoury inventory numbers, dove-tailed bead fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights to the engraved top-tangs, border-line and scroll engraved breech-blocks (traces of colour), gold vents, border, trophy and foliate engraved, colour-hardened bar-action locks signed 'T.J. MORTIMER, ST JAMES ST', sliding safes behind the engraved pierced hammers (one cracked), rain-proof pans and roller-bearings to the frizzen-springs, walnut half-stocks with chequered bag-shaped pistol-grips, vacant clipped-corned rectangular silver escutcheons to wrists, border and scroll engraved trigger-guard bows and tangs, set-triggers, ball finials, silver rectangular take-down wedge escutcheons, horn fore-end tips and captive stirrup iron under-barrel ramrods, TOGETHER WITH their original brass-mounted mahogany storage case, compartmented and lined in green baize (some mothing) and containing a mahogany cleaning rod, scissors ball mould, small bag-shaped flask and a wad-punch
