A GOOD SAXON ARTILLERY OFFICERS SWORD WITH DAMASCUS BLADE,
circa 1890, the 32in. slightly curved pipe-backed quill-tipped damascus blade etched with 'EISENHAUER' on the right hand side and ''DAMASCSTAHL' on the left near hilt, brass carved stirrup-hilt with straight cross-guard and scrolled quillion, squared langets, the left with carved crossed canons, the right with an applied white-metal star badge of Saxony, wire-bound sharkskin hilt with swollen centre, carved brass-eared back-strap with lion's head pommel COMPLETE WITH its polished iron scabbard with twin loose brass suspension rings on brass bands
