AN 11mmx57R (SPANISH REM.) SINGLE-SHOT SPORTING RIFLE, MODEL 'ARGENTINE ROLLING-BLOCK', serial no. 1761,
circa 1880 and being a modern conversion from the Argentinian M1879 service rifle, with shortened re-blued two-stage barrel, the top-flat stamped with 'MODELO ARGENTINO M1879 E.N.' over 'R' and three stars, re-coloured rolling block action with blued hammer and block, makers details stamped to top-tang (rubbed), provision for peep-sight, re-stocked with a chequered walnut pistol-grip butt-stock (cracked and repaired at wrist) with orange solid rubber butt-pad and a raised cheek-piece to the left hand side, contrasting wood pistol-grip cap stamped 'D. ROBINSON, HALIFAX, GUNMAKER' and chequered walnut fore-end with contrasting wood tip COMPLETE WITH a 28in. 'MVA' six-power blued steel telescopic sight in vernier mounts
