circa 1853, with twist iron laminated 29 1/2in. barrels, the top-rib relief-carved with the gothic script signature 'LEPAGE MOUTIER ARQ.R BREVETTE PARIS' terminating in a panel of carved oak and ivy-leaves, the underside of barrels signed on the flats 'LEOPOLD BERNARD, CANONNIER A PARIS', percussion fences, en-suite leaf carved decoration to the top-tang, isolated back-action locks signed around the hammers 'LEPAGE MOUTIER' with further en-suite carved leaf decoration with central silhouettes of running stags, highly figured chequered walnut butt-stock (chequering worn), engraved flat-fronted trigger-guard bow, rounded action body engraved en-suite, removable iron fore-end, the whole darkly stained with some mild pitting
